From flower bouquets to a Bentley chauffeur service, if you want it – Gotham will provide it this Valentine’s. This year the 5-tar hotel’s 2020 romance package includes a glass of champagne on arrival, a 5-course dinner in its AA Rosette restaurant Honey, accommodation, live music in the private members club with portrait painting, and a late breakfast and checkout at 12pm (from £395).

The Cow Hollow Hotel

This boutique hotel sits in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. With room for just sixteen bedrooms, this beautifully-restored 19th-century textile warehouse is all exposed brick and metal staircases. Each stay comes with complimentary prosecco and nibbles in the evening, and milk and cookies before bed – Valentine’s or no Valentine’s.

From rainfall showers to super-comfy beds, Dakota prides itself on its attention to detail. The downstairs bar and grill is low lit and sultry, and even comes with its own champagne snug if you’re in the mood to go all out with a good bottle of fizz. This year the hotel’s offering a Valentine’s package from £265, which includes an overnight stay, a six-course dinner from the ‘Taste of Dakota’ set menu (£60pp), full cooked breakfast and late check-out at 12pm.

Situated next door to Victoria train station, Hotel Indigo is a marriage of old and new under one roof. This Valentine’s, enjoy a stay in one of its boutique rooms, a specially curated five-course tasting menu at the in-house restaurant Mamucium and a champagne breakfast in bed the next morning from £200.

With king-sized beds, walk-in showers and luxury amenities, the newly-opened Stock Exchange Hotel is a fresh contender for this year’s most romantic hotel. Downstairs, find Michelin starred chef Tom Kerridge’s Bull & Bear restaurant – which has already received some rave reviews from critics.

If you really want to impress, you can’t go wrong at The Lowry. With beautifully appointed bedrooms, an in-house spa and a newly refurbished restaurant and bar, it’s got everything under one roof. For Valentine’s 2020, the hotel’s running a lover’s package for £175 that includes an overnight stay, dinner for two from the Chef’s Choice menu, a romantic cocktail each and a full English the following morning.

Despite its recent makeover in the modern style, ABode still retains many of its charming characterful features such as old wooden stairs and charming tiling in the hallways.
