Garni chefs Tom and Neil are two friends who decided to go into business together.
With a background in high-end events and fine-dining catering, they decided to make their mark on the street food industry.
Their menus are always tailored to the location and change regularly, incorporating seasonal ingredients and local produce.
Now, they’re taking a permanent riverside spot at New Bailey from Wednesday-Friday.
Located next to Spinningfields, New Bailey is a new riverside destination next to the River Irwell.
The Garni terrace is brand new to Manchester, and owners hope it will become the new riverside spot for trying out some of the finest contemporary street food around.
Dishes include the likes of Thai infused rare beef crispy noodle salad, croquettes made with Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese, chocolate chat bombs and a pink gin cocktail.
Garni join Bon Street food, who have been popping up at New Bailey since 2019.
Following government restrictions on outdoor pop-ups, Bon Street Food even managed to grow its customer base from New Bailey throughout lockdown.
Bon Street Food offers some of Manchester’s best Afro-British street food and has a menu comprised of stacked burgers, fried plantain and juicy shawarma fries.
New Bailey has been home to Bite Street Food and over the years has seen some of Manchester’ finest street food, including Panchos Burritos, Halloumination and South Manny Flavaz.
“This has been an exciting opportunity for us and we can’t wait to show Manchester what we do!” said Tom Beswick, co-owner and head chef at Garni.
“Creating the menu based on the demographic and characteristics of New Bailey has been really fun and we’re looking forward to developing it as time goes on”.
Garni are serving up their new menu at New Bailey from 12pm – 3pm Wednesday Friday. Bon Street Food is at New Bailey on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 12-7pm.
