Stick on your peaked cap, dress up sharp and head to the Peaky Blinders Bar on Peter Street for one of the stand-out offers of 2020.

This eye-catching venue has nods to the acclaimed BBC TV series which follows the activities of a young street gang based in Birmingham in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

And if you’ve been following our recent coverage, you’ll already be aware that scenes for the show have been filmed on the streets of Manchester in recent months.

But what does this have to do with food and drink?

Well, if you’ve made a new year’s resolution to watch the pennies but want a decent meal and a quality drink to go with it, the Peaky Blinders Twenty Twenty menu provides top-notch 2020s food and drink at (almost) 1920s prices, give or take a few shillings.

The Twenty Twenty concept is simple. Two people get two burgers and two drinks for a total of £20.20. Easy to remember, right?

Plus if you’re making a night of it and want to invite more people, each additional person pays just £10.10.

Peaky Blinders do some of the best burgers in the city, and while we’re not sure if Thomas Shelby and his band of merry men would have been wolfing down toasted brioche bun burgers on the mean streets of early 20th century Birmingham, it’s odds on he’d have loved them as much as we do.

So what’s on offer? There’s a choice of three burgers for your money: steak, chicken and vegan – all come with the Peaky Blinders signature sauce, a house salad plus a hefty pile on skin-on fries. Trust us, you’re not going to leave feeling hungry.

And if you’re feeling especially decadent, you can choose from a series of upgrades, ranging from Jack cheese to bacon, or an extra patty to tastebud-tingling lattice chips, for a small extra cost.

Drinks-wise, if you’re looking to live it up you can go for house wine, Peaky lager, Symond’s cider, or there’s a selection of soft drinks if you want to keep your mind as sharp as Shelby’s razor blades.

And it’s worth sticking around afterwards to sample some of their classic cocktails, such as the pornstar martini, espresso martini or the negroni, to really get in the swing of things.

The venue has regular live music acts on too – that’s everything you could possibly need for the ultimate roaring twenties night out.

But keep in mind this offer is only available Monday to Friday and you need to book online in advance. Plus be aware the offer is limited to a maximum of six guests.

So, if you’re a fan of Peaky Blinders and eating out, as well as saving money, here’s your chance to combine the lot.

For just over a tenner each this January, you and a guest can have a great quality burger and chips, plus a drink in one of Manchester’s most glamorous bars.

It shouldn’t take a gang of street toughs to convince you this is one of the best ways to kickstart the new decade.
