A huge new Uniqlo fashion store has launched in Manchester.
Spread over three floors in the prime Market Street location formerly occupied by BHS, the shop has become the Japanese “LifeWear” brand’s northern flagship, representing a huge investment in Manchester
It offers a huge range of affordable fashions for men, women and children inside the vast 21,000 square foot building.
The brand’s logo of “Tokyo comes up north” is seen throughout the fit-out, which is bright and airy with special displays on how they create some of their fashions.
Opening offers at the store include men’s shirts from £19.90, parkas from £39.90, while women’s t-shirts can be found on offer from £7.90, with jeans from £34.90.
The male and female fashions are split on either side of each of the three floors, while on the top floor you will also find a good range of children’s clothes and baby wear.
Staff were handing out leaflets on Market Street this morning while hundreds of people queued outside the store to be the first in at 9am
In the store opening blurb, they say: “We’re in town and so excited to meet you. We love this vibrant, creative, stylish city and we think Uniqlo LifeWear will be a great fit.
“Manchester’s industrial heritage means you’re a hardworking bunch. Our clothes work pretty hard too. They’re made to last, with wardrobe essentials in quality materials and classic designs.
“Manchester will never go out of fashion, and nor will we.”
Pointing out that Manchester “rains a lot” they say that’s great news – because they have a huge range of Blocktech water resistant, windproof outerwear specially designed for wet weather.
It’s been over 15 years since Uniqlo was last in Manchester – also back then to be found at the Manchester Arndale.
Uniqlo is open 7 days a week at 57 Market Street, Manchester.
