New Order Wythenshawe Park

Manchester is gearing up for a historic musical spectacle as iconic band New Order prepares to make a triumphant return to their hometown.

On Saturday, 24th August 2024, Wythenshawe Park will play host to an all-day outdoor concert featuring New Order, marking their first full headline performance in Manchester since 2021.

This eagerly awaited event follows the success of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ debut at the venue earlier last year.

Joining New Order on the stage will be an impressive lineup, including Manchester’s own Johnny Marr and the adopted Mancunian talent Róisín Murphy.

New Order: A Legacy of Triumph Over Tragedy

Emerging from the ashes of the legendary Joy Division, New Order has stood the test of time, becoming one of the most influential and acclaimed bands globally.

This year, the band celebrated the 40th anniversary of their hit ‘Blue Monday’ and announced reissued editions of their classic compilation ‘Substance 1987.’ This album stands as their biggest-selling to date.

Despite their extensive legacy, New Order remains committed to delivering electrifying live performances, as seen in their headline show at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound and their ongoing UK and European tour.

Weekend Tickets for New Order and The Blossoms

Following on from New Orders huge gig on Saturday, fans who want to stay the whole weekend to see the Blossoms too, can do with a combined ticket.

Live From Wythenshawe Park welcomes music fans to TWO outdoor concerts at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park this August Bank Holiday Weekend.

The combined ticket, priced at £80 + booking fee, encourages concertgoers to make the most of the long weekend, while soaking up a festival atmosphere with two brilliant all-day lineups, featuring some of Manchester and the north’s legendary talents, alongside superb upcoming acts.

Johnny Marr and Róisín Murphy

Former The Smiths guitarist and close friend of New Order, Johnny Marr, will be sharing the stage with the iconic band.

Marr and Bernard Sumner of New Order formed Electronic in the late 1980s, a synth-dance act that produced three albums and collaborated with synthpop pioneers Pet Shop Boys.

Johnny Marr recently announced his new album ‘Spirit Power: The Best of Johnny Marr,’ celebrating the first decade of his solo career.

Fans can anticipate a mix of Marr’s greatest hits and the new track ‘The Answer’ at Wythenshawe Park.

Róisín Murphy, known in the 1990s as one half of the pop duo Moloko, will also grace the stage, following the release of her universally acclaimed sixth studio album, Hit Parade.

Fresh from a sold-out gig at Manchester’s Albert Hall in May, Murphy promises to bring her incredible charisma and talent to deliver another stunning live performance.
