Name a Star

This holiday season, Trafford Centre is lighting up Manchester with more than just twinkling decorations.

The iconic Orient food court—already beloved for its glittering canopy of over 6,000 stars—is inviting visitors to name one of these stars in honour of someone special.

Name a Star at Trafford Centre

Wouldn’t it be cute, strolling under a ceiling of stars, knowing one of them carries the name of a loved one, a treasured memory, or a moment worth celebrating forever.

And, in true holiday spirit, every penny of the £30 donation goes straight to Trafford Centre’s Fountain Fund charities: Stockdales, FareShare Manchester, and Look Good Feel Better.

How does Name a Star work?

So, how does it work? In exchange for a £30 donation, participants receive a certificate to commemorate their named star. Trafford Centre will also display the name on a plaque in The Orient, proudly honouring your dedication for the entire year!

Not only will your chosen name shine brightly over one of Manchester’s busiest and most beloved spaces, but it will also make a real difference in someone’s life.

Simon Layton, Trafford Centre’s Centre Director, couldn’t be more excited to share this unique tradition. “Christmas is a time for generosity and togetherness,” he shared.

“At Trafford Centre, we wanted to offer a truly special way for people to celebrate those values. Every named star is a tribute to someone cherished, and together, we’re also supporting vital causes in our community.”

If there’s someone who deserves a little sparkle in your life—maybe a best friend, a beloved grandparent, or even that hard-to-shop-for person on your list—naming a Trafford Centre star could be the ultimate holiday surprise.

But don’t wait too long! Dedications must be in by December 6th. If you’re interested, please email Christmas.stars@traffordcentre.com by 6th December with their chosen name for the star.

This year, Trafford Centre invites you to add a little twinkle to your holiday, bringing warmth to loved ones’ hearts and brightening the lives of others.

So why not be part of something truly stellar?
