‘Tis almost the season to be jolly and the countdown to the arrival of the world famous Manchester Christmas Markets has begun.

In less than three weeks time, the scent of mulled wine will be in the air and thousands of shoppers will flock to Manchester to grab a Gluhwein and a German sausage or two.

The limited edition Christmas mugs have become real collectors items. More than 100,000 mugs are made each year and they are all snapped up by visitors.

Each year a brand new design is released. This year’s mugs may be the most instagrammable ones yet.

Doubling up as props, they will definitely be putting a smile on festive faces.

The coffee edition mug transforms the drinker into Rudolph with a very comical red nose whilst the Gluhwein mug features mistletoe on a dark blue background – ideal for some Christmas smooching.

The mugs have crept up slightly in price this year and cost £3. However, they can be returned to the stall after your visit where you can reclaim your deposit. Unless, of course you want to take it home, which most people choose to do.

Make sure you get one before they run out.

The markets will be open from November 9th until December 23rd in Albert Square and surrounding areas. It will be the last time they take place in Albert Square until the refurbishment of the Town Hall is completed.
