King Street Townhouse has been named the 12th best in the country in this year’s TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards.
The baby grand hotel in the upper King Street conservation area opened in December 2015 and has 40 rooms. Guests can choose from five different room types, each with its own unique character and amenities.
Plush rooms come with flat-screen TVs, well stocked minibars, coffeemakers and rainfall showers. Upgraded rooms have free-standing baths, while some offer town hall views. Opulent suites add living areas or separate lounges.
Each bedroom boasts handmade South African linen and a television with an in-room Sky box, as well as a television over the bath.
There’s a chic wood-panelled restaurant, a cosy, art-filled afternoon tea lounge, a mezzanine lounge with a fireplace, a gym and a spa.
The piece de résistance is the spectacular rooftop Infinity spa pool for residents, and an exclusive south-facing roof lounge and terrace which are available for private hire and make the perfect setting for summer barbecues.
The Travellers’ Choice awards are based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide. Unlike most hospitality awards, the Travellers’ Choice awards are based on feedback from actual guests over the previous year.
The hotel has also been nominated for an award in this year’s EatDrinkSleep Awards.
