The Dunham Barn

If you're looking for a slower way of life you could do worse than checking out the Dunham Barn.

As the name suggests The Dunham Barn is based just a short walk from the entrance to Dunham Massey and older readers will know the business under its previous name Lavender Farm.

It's tranquil, beautiful, cosy, quaint and has lush greenery all around - all those things we need in the modern world to counteract the busyness we invite into our life.  It's the sort of place where you should put your phone away, but you'll feel compelled to take photos of the beauty that surrounds you.

They pride themselves on working with local suppliers and count Lovingly Artisan, Hip Pop, Planet Doughnut, Dunham Massey Apple Juice, Sapplings Eggs and more amongst their suppliers. It's truly the definition of independents supporting independents here.

Whether you want just a casual coffee to break up a dog walk, yes it's dog friendly; a bacon barm in the middle of a bike ride; or you drive down for a full English ... the Dunham Barn has something for everyone. It's a lovely walk from Altrincham town centre, but they have plenty of free parking if you don't want to struggle with the little ones in tow.

A special mention must go to the Afternoon Tea option, which has become one of those must try choices in the area. Available on request as well as special occasions such as Mother's Day.

As well as food and drink it provides so much more though.

During School Holidays they have activities for the kids such as Easter Trails, Open Air Skating and Santa Visits.
