Giving back

I Love Manchester Charity Campaigns help raise funds for charities and support community activity across Greater Manchester when it’s needed the most. The ‘biggest’ heart in Manchester. Literally.

Love Manchester?
Prove it.

Young people typically dream of going to another place – like New York City – to achieve their goals. I Love MCR signals the catalyst and context for Mancunians to do great things without having to go anywhere.

This city is more than just a destination. Manchester is a home with a proud history of resilience and solidarity. Giving back is more than just monetary donations, it’s also about giving time. The city is the vanguard of standing up for those who need help. From Peterloo to Pankhurst, our city gives a voice to the voiceless and I Love MCR is an incorruptible symbol of that.

We stick together here, too. We know the power of civic pride and community and know that, as Mancunians, we have far more in common with each other than that which divides us. And the Manchester of today is no exception. We are a bright, vibrant, successful city – but there are still some people who need a helping hand.

Did you know?

One in three of our young people in Greater Manchester live in poverty below the breadline. One in ten residents have no qualifications. And 1 in 81 people will experience homelessness.

What we fund

Our organisation helps to raise vital funds to help improve the lives and prospects of people across Greater Manchester.  So whether it’s support for underprivileged children and under-funded projects, or vulnerable army veterans desperate for life after service and homeless people who need a bed, donate and help our beneficiary charities fund great causes as and when it’s needed the most.

How do we raise funds?

We mobilise and call upon a charitable Greater Manchester community. We create meaningful content and use our platform to engage with the right people and raise awareness of great causes. Meanwhile, we take part in, create and coordinate fundraising initiatives such as the I Love Manchester Awards and sell merchandise where 100% of the profits go to our charity campaign.

Ultimately, though, we count on partnerships and monetary donations from good people (like you). We’re never ceased to be humbled by the goodwill of fellow members of humanity and the way Manchester stands together at times of need.

Confusing we know. But to be clear, We Love MCR Charity is Manchester City Council’s charity. Primarily called the Lord Mayor of Manchester’s Charity Appeal Trust, the historic charity “adopted the look and feel of the hugely successful I Love MCR® campaign… because it has become a symbol of the positive action taken by residents and businesses following disturbances in the city in 2011.”

We Love MCR Charity registered charity no. 1066972.
