Kendals santa grotto

Bosses at Kendals department store in Manchester have revealed there will be a new location for their famous Santa’s Grotto, which will launch later this month.

The Deansgate store has long been a popular location for families to take their youngsters to meet Father Christmas – and in recent years has been based up on the sixth floor.

But the ongoing redevelopment of the House of Fraser store has meant a new home for the Santa’s Grotto – and this year it will sit on the redesigned fifth floor which houses the brand new toy department and childrenswear section (which has moved from the sixth floor).

Families can expect the same magical winter wonderland for children to walk through inside the grotto, before meeting the big red suited man himself in his cosy, fire-warmed grotto.

Every child visiting the grotto will be given colouring in activities in the queue and biscuits sponsored by McVities.

Tickets are priced at £15 per child which includes a visit to the grotto with Santa and his elves and a present.  There is no need to book in advance.

All profits from this year’s grotto are going to Manchester’s St Ann’s Church to help with the fundraiser for their new roof.

Also returning to the store this year will be the popular Breakfast with Santa events held at Cicchetti Italian restaurant based on the ground floor every Sunday in December.

When does the Kendals’ Santa’s Grotto open?

The Kendals’ grotto launches on Saturday 23rd November 2019.  It will then be open:-

Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm

Sundays 11am to 5pm

No booking is necessary for the grotto, but tickets MUST be booked in advance for the Santa’s Breakfast events at Cicchetti, priced at £25 per child which includes breakfast, a personal visit by Santa at breakfast, a visit to the grotto, a present and a photo.

Book Breakfast with Santa by calling the store on 0161 832 3414 for details.
