Out of everything ever born out of the Northern Quarter, I don’t think we have ever been disappointed. The place that brought us The Whisky Jar, Kosmonaut and Solita is surely the best neighbourhood in the whole of the North West. Well now, art and homewares brand Northern Letters are taking all of that and channelling it through the medium of typography.
“Northern Letters are the guys to feed your nostalgia.”
Whether your sofa needs sprucing up with some chic cushions, or your work place is seriously lacking in mugs that bring Manchester’s coolest quarter to your desk, then Northern Letters have got you covered.
Matt Simpson is a true Manc-lover, having lived in the NQ itself for seven years and it is his creative vision that has translated signs into a homeware line that now embraces the whole of Manchester. Seeing the variety of signage around the area lead Simpson to dream up the interior brand that aims to put a piece of the most vibrant city in the North into your house.
The idea is to bring all of what you can’t bear to leave behind in the city centre, into the place that you spend most time. Whether that’s with canvasses and prints, mugs or tea towels; in your office or in your kitchen, Northern Letters are the guys to feed your nostalgia.
They can even personalise your items for you. What with so many self-confessed Manchester lovers around, we’re pretty jealous that we didn’t have their idea first. But at least we can fill our office with the fruits of their genius.
Northern Letters will be at the Old Granada Studio Markets on Sunday 13th April and at Home Is In The North on Saturday 26th April. You can also browse and buy from them whenever you fancy at northernletters.co.uk
