Manchester and Ibiza have a lot in common. They’re both cool, cultured and are world-famous for their music and nightlife.

But don’t worry if you haven’t managed that Ibiza getaway this year, because a new Ibiza-style bar set to open in The Printworks later this year.

The Lazy Lizard will combine VIP service with a relaxed island atmosphere. The club is set to launch with high expectations as it promises lights, ambience and the very best in techno, deep and classic house music until 4am every weekend.

“Special lighting features will give the feeling of the sun setting below,” say bar bosses, “and as the tone changes, the energy rises and DJ will fill the air with the best in house music.”

The people behind it, MAD Ltd,  currently own several popular restaurants and bars in the Northern Quarter including Hula, Walrus, and Rosylee, but it’s their newest venture – occupying the former ‘Entourage’ unit – that is set to be the company’s largest space.

“This is the biggest site in the MAD portfolio, so it’s very exciting for us” said managing director Mark Andrew.

“Ibiza is all about crazy parties and carefree fun in beautiful places, which is what we are creating with Lazy Lizard. There’s nowhere else in the city you’ll be able to experience quality house music in a venue as cool as this.”

The aim of the venue is to create truly high-class experience for its clientele. Set over two floors and with a total capacity of 800, the club will also boast a VIP-only mezzanine section for up to 200 people, with luxury booths and table service.

Opening Thursday to Saturday with local and Ibizan DJ’s playing the very best in house music until 4am, Lazy Lizard is set to bring legendary hedonistic fun to Manchester.

With regular Ibizan club nights also on the cards, you won’t want to miss their launch party coming in November.

The club is also offering the chance to win a VIP experience during their launch weekend. To enter, all you need to do is register on their website.

And any budding DJ’s looking for a new experience can look forward to an open recruitment/audition day to be held in October. Check out the Lazy Lizard Facebook page for more details.
