I Love MCR loves Christmas. We think it’s a magical time of the year. We love the markets, the ice rinks, the lights and the snow.
But whilst the festive period brings joy to many, it can be a difficult time of year for people who are isolated or vulnerable or struggling to make ends meet.
There are lots of charities and other organisations working with people in need throughout the year in Manchester, and many of them are grateful for some help over the Christmas period.
Organisations like Lifeshare, which needs volunteers for its Christmas project where homeless people can get a hot meal and keep warm over the holiday period, and Wood Street Mission, who need toys and goodies to distribute to needy families in Manchester and Salford.
There’s also a growing number of people who think there’s more to Christmas than eating and drinking too much, pulling a few crackers and falling asleep watching the telly
And more and more businesses want to put something back into the community.
I Love MCR would like to do its bit by putting charities which could do with some help over the festive period in touch with people and businesses who want to help out.
So if you’re a charity or not-for-profit organisation working with homeless or vulnerable people and need some help – volunteers or practical help or just donations – or an individual or business that wants to offer it, fill in the form and we’ll do the rest.
