Now Valentine’s is out of the way, it’s time to get excited for the date we all really had marked on our calendars: Pancake Day.

If you’re still deciding the best way to enjoy the fluffy batter delights, how about trying a hanging pancake kebab?

After a two-year hiatus, immersive bar and restaurant The Botanist is bringing back its signature sell-out special for Shrove Tuesday.

And fans are flippin’ excited about the return of the limited edition treats, which went viral in 2019.

Offering a sweet twist on its trademark savoury hanging kebab, the cocktail bar has created three mouth-watering combinations to satisfy all your crepe cravings.

Miniature pancakes will be hung from skewers, with a choice of different toppings they’ll be stacked up with.

Diners can opt for chocolate brownie chunks and a hot chocolate sauce, or marshmallows and strawberries with a lemon drizzle.

Each one is served with a pot of sauce made specially to drizzle down the kebab and priced at £6.95.

Hanging kebab enthusiasts took to social media to show their excitement for the return of the dish after the restaurant announced its pancake day offering via Instagram, with over 1700 comments from excited fans.

Popular savoury hanging kebab options at The Botanist include chicken with garlic oil, crispy halloumi with a sweet chilli glaze, salt and pepper pork belly with bang bang sauce, lamb kofta marinated in Middle Eastern spices and coated in harissa jam, and chicken and chorizo marinated in herbs with smoked paprika oil, all served with properly seasoned chips.

The special hanging pancake kebabs will be available at all The Botanist’s branches, including Deansgate, MediaCityUK, Didsbury, Alderley Edge and Knutsford.

But if you want to get your hands on one, you’d better be quick, because the limited edition sweet treats will only be available from Monday 28th February until Wednesday 2nd March.
