It’s been an epic run of the much-loved musical Hamilton in Manchester, and the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel are helping us to celebrate with an exclusive Hamilton exhibition.

In celebration of Manchester hosting the globally acclaimed musical, Hamilton, for the first time, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is thrilled to present an extraordinary exhibition titled Hamilton: The Story of Tonight.

This captivating showcase will feature 20 exclusive photographs, both on and off stage, providing a unique glimpse into the enchanting journey of this musical phenomenon that has captured hearts worldwide.

From Tuesday, 23 January 2024, visitors and theatre enthusiasts alike can enjoy this free exhibition, showcasing the meticulous work behind the scenes of Hamilton. The exhibition will be hosted at the iconic Refuge, offering an immersive experience into the making of the groundbreaking musical.

Renowned production photographer, Danny Kaan, has curated a collection of 20 photographs, capturing every moment from the initial chords struck in the rehearsal room to the awe-inspiring first performance at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.

Included in the collection are never-before-seen backstage shots, rehearsal highlights, and production moments, providing a comprehensive view of the intricate process.

How long is the Hamilton exhibition open?

Running until Thursday, 29 February 2024, this exhibition is a must-see for local and visiting theatre enthusiasts in Manchester.

The Refuge’s walls will be adorned with glimpses of the vibrant energy of backstage life, the creative and technical expertise involved, and the rarely-seen intricacies of the rehearsal process.

Free Hamilton exhibition

Hamilton: The Story of Tonight will be open to the public, free of charge, at The Refuge’s walls from Tuesday, 23 January until Thursday, 29 February 2024.

Hamilton’s producers express excitement, “We are thrilled to provide insight into the staging processes of the UK and Ireland Tour of Hamilton. The exhibition spans from Day One in the rehearsal room to the Premiere at Manchester’s Palace Theatre in November 2023. It showcases the incredible work of the touring team and the overwhelming response from Manchester audiences.”

David Steel, General Manager of Kimpton Clocktower, expresses pride, stating, “We’re honoured to host this unique series of images, creating a one-of-a-kind Hamilton experience in Manchester.
