The Urban Action Weekend at Great Northern Warehouse is your chance to hone your bike skills on the indoor pump track and air bag or compete for the title of Manchester’s strength and endurance champion.
And course there’ll be plenty of music and great food and drink too.
The team at Dirt Factory are working to secure a permanent base for their large-scale indoor bike park. In the meantime, they are bringing their indoor cycling experience to life for one weekend only with the Dirt Factory pop-up indoor bike park.
So whether you’re a mountain biker, BMXer, road rider or cycle commuter, you can experience the thrill of the pump track, jump on to an air bag or marvel from afar and take some snaps of the action in this iconic Manchester setting.
Either bring your own bike or demo one of the latest models from Evans Cycles. To book you ride time visit click here
If pedalling isn’t your bag then have a scoot along the pump track. A great northern invention, Swifty Scooters mean that scooters are no longer reserved for child’s play. Find out how you can swap public transport and speed across the city.
If you’re a body builder, running fanatic or gym bunny, there’s a challenge for you. Test your power, show your spirit and push your endurance to its limit in the search for Manchester’s best all round athlete.
Paying homage to the gruelling working conditions and backbreaking labours of the Industrial Revolution, Test Your Steel is a series of challenges which will test both strength and endurance.
The competition is open to just 30 individual competitors on Saturday, whilst on Sunday the competition opens to 30 pairs. Whether you want to battle it out solo, or join forces with your strong pal, there will be plenty of encouragement for those who take part, including a winners prize and a special strength burger up for grabs from Almost Famous.

Great Northern’s fabulous food and drink offering will be there for you to enjoy throughout the weekend. From mighty burgers at Almost Famous to delicious cakes at Home Sweet Home, there’ll be something to suit everyone.
Dan Makin, one of the founders and directors of Dirt Factory, said: “Urban Action Weekend is all about having fun, getting active and meeting up with fellow riders from the city and beyond. We thought it would be great to give the people of Manchester a flavour of what we’re about ahead of us securing a permanent space to operate in.”
