the Great Northern Warehouse has announced the return of ‘Yogathon’ – an all-day celebration of yoga, with free sessions for all.

Taking place at the historic amphitheatre on Tuesday 21st June 2022, Yogathon offers yogis of all ages and abilities to come down and enjoy outdoor free yoga sessions lead by world-class instructors from The Life Centre.

With sessions running from early morning until evening, there are plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind, whether it’s pre-work, during your lunch break or a post-work flow.

Early risers can enjoy 108 Sun Salutations between 7.30am – 9am, followed by Lively Functional Flow Yoga from 12.30pm – 1.15pm and finally fun and friendly Vinyasa at 5.15pm – 6pm.

Yoga mats will be provided for all sessions – meaning you just need to turn up and enjoy the experience.

Yogathon is also collecting donations for Manchester Mind charity, which has supported better mental health for Manchester residents for over 30 years.

The Life Centre is Manchester’s leading yoga studio, offering over 30 studio-based classes every week.

Its diverse range of classes include HOT, Yin and Ashtanga Yoga which are taught by some of the city’s finest instructors.

Beginners can also enjoy 21 days of unlimited studio classes at the Life Centre for just £35.

“We hope to welcome yogis of all ages and abilities at this year’s Yogathon and encourage those who’ve never tried yoga to come down and try out something new,” said Mark Schofield, Centre Director for The Great Northern.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for Manchester’s community to connect through yoga and experience the wonderful teachings of our world-class teachers at The Life Centre – all for free!”

A spokesperson for The Life Centre said: “We’re calling all yoga lovers, from beginners to experts, to gather their colleagues and loved ones to come and join us on this unique retreat of self-discovery at this year’s Yogathon.

“We’re thrilled to be helping the community regain their zen and come together after the pandemic, with the expertise of our amazing colleagues and teachers.”
