Trafford Centre beach

Temperatures are set to soar this week – and it’s also the start of the school summer holidays.

So it’s great news that there’s now a new BEACH in Manchester, and it’s free to all.

The sandy beach has just opened at the intu Trafford Centre, as part of a raft of summer holiday special events at the shopping mall.

The Summer Hub has been set up outside the Great Hall entrance, and as well as the beach to keep the kids entertained, they can also captain their own boat or have a go on bungee trampolines and water walkers – while Trafford Centre bosses say they’ll be providing the buckets and spades!

But it’s not just for the kids, because there is also a new pop-up gin and fizz garden for the adults to enjoy in the outdoors too.  The bar will be serving a range of summer gins, cocktails, prosecco and champagne, along with non-alcoholic drinks too.

You can also grab snacks including hot churros and ice creams.

Outside the Great Hall is where you’ll also find the vintage carousel which is perfect to cool off on a quick whirl on those sizzling summer days.

The Summer Hub is open from now until 1st September at the centre.

Families might also like to know that The Big Bug Tour is ongoing inside the mall for the next couple of weeks.

You can seek out a host of giant and intricate sculptures of garden bugs – including ladybirds, butterflies and caterpillars.  You can get a trail map from any of the information desks in the mall, but be quick as the bugs are only in the mall until 30th July.

The Summer Hub is open outside The Great Hall at intu Trafford Centre from Monday to Sunday 11am to 10pm until 1st September.
