There’s a Fizz Festival this month inside a stunning historic courthouse

A festival dedicated to all things fizz is returning for its fourth year – at a new location inside an historic former crown court.

The Fizz Festival offers wine-lovers the chance to try a huge range of prosecco, champagne, cava and English sparkling wines all under one roof.

And this year that roof will be the rather spectacular setting of the grade I listed former Knutsford Crown Court, now The Courthouse hotel and restaurant.

The event takes place on the weekend of the 17th and 18th November – and you can book in for a three hour session from 12 noon onwards on each day.

Organisers say this is the only UK wine fair dedicated to champagne and sparkling wine which is not a token-based drinking event. Instead you get a FREE sample of all of the fizz on offer during your session.

There will also be offers and discounts on buying bottles or cases of your favourites – and there will even be the option to have them all delivered to your home for a £5 charge within a seven-mile radius.

“Our regulars will know that we focus on independent producers and suppliers of every type of sparkling wine from around the world,” says Fizz Festival organiser Janet Harrison.

“We love to work with passionate, hard-working winemakers who create top quality, interesting and hard to find fizz and offer you the opportunity to try before you buy.

“We have producers flying in from Alsace, Italy and the Champagne region, of course, as well as local suppliers who are bringing a fantastic selection from Australia, Germany, Spain and pretty much any country which produces sparkling wines.

“We are also very excited to welcome three award-winning English sparkling wine producers this year.”

Attendees can also cast their votes for their favourite fizz in a range of categories while at the event for the Fizz Festival People’s Choice Awards.

The four winners of Best Champagne, Best Sparkling Wine UK, Best Sparkling Wine Rest of World and Out of the Ordinary will be presented on the final evening of the festival.

Tickets are available to buy for £25 per person, or £90 for four people, for each three-hour session.  But we have secured an exclusive 20% discount code for I Love MCR readers.
