Northern Quarter twenties-styled bar The Fitzgerald’s live music and cocktail combinations are proving popular. They’ve already hosted a Bourbon and Blues Thursday special and this week it’s Rum Sessions, a chilled-out acoustic evening with a special cocktail list from Santa Teresa Rum.

On Thursday 27 October it’s Tequila Fiesta with live music from the Retrosettes and lashings of El Jimador Tequila and a special cocktail menu. The Fitzgerald’s bartenders are partnering with El Jimador – the estate-bottled, 100% agave tequila – to create a bespoke menu of rock n roll cocktails.  Enjoy the price along with the music –  they are just 2 for £10 all night!

And if these spicy specials don’t have your toes tapping, then the music will. Retrosettes will be performing party covers in their usual style, combining modern with vintage in a cool mix of sounds from pop to rock ’n’ roll and jazz.

It will be an evening of something for everyone – and that applies to the cocktails, too, because if tequila isn’t your favourite tipple, you may well be won over when it’s part of one of their specials.

The handcrafted El Jimador cocktails will include a sweet treat in the form of Sofia Swizzle, tantalising the tastebuds with tequila, apple and ginger beer – like a pinked up Appletiser with a little spice to finish!

For a classic cocktail with a twist, try a Tequila Manhattan – switch the whiskey for tequila and voila!  Just as powerful, just as good!  If spice is your thing, you can increase the heat with a Cucumber and Chilli Collins, a chilli-infused take on another classic recipe.
