Local entrepreneur Dan Purnell is joining forces with some of the city’s most creative bartenders to bring a new independent bar to the heart of Manchester.

Located at 123 Deansgate, Elixir Tonics and Treats is the fresh face of Manchester’s social scene this autumn. aiming to fill the gap between the vibrant Northern Quarter and the more corporate and sophisticated Spinningfields.

We think there is a niche for a small independent, but owner-operated bar, at this end of town, that offers a truly luxurious experience.

Dan is currently director of Escapade Bars and was previously beverage manager at the Burj Al Arab, the world’s only 7* hotel. His love for Manchester began back in 2003 when he became general manager of the then popular private members club Sugar Lounge. His work in the industry means he brings vast experience as well as local knowledge to this new venture.

General Manager Jaime Wilkinson says ‘’Exceptional service is our main driving force. We feel the customer needs to become part of the cocktail-making experience, putting them right at the heart of our menu and creating more synergy between great drinks and having a great time too!’.”

Elixir is set to open in November.
