Does your dog enjoy the finer things in life?

Pet-friendly hotel reviews have increased by 62% in the last two years. And so today, Hotels.com has announced its search for the world’s first ever doggy hotel reviewer to travel across the globe and review the best pet-friendly hotels.

If chosen, your pooch will be responsible for spreading the ‘bark’ and picking the best pet-friendly hotels around the world.

The winning pup (and owner) will get to spend 10 nights in dog-friendly hotels anywhere their paws take them.

“We love our pets more than we love our other half at times, so it’s no surprise that we’ve seen a huge increase in travellers wanting to take their furry plus one on holiday with them,” says Liz Oakman from Hotels.com.

To launch the global search, the accommodation provider has partnered with stylish dog influencer Dolly Pawton, a pampered pooch who clearly loves travelling in style, to encourage budding canine critics to apply for this coveted role.

Dolly stars in the recruitment video, reviewing The Curtain Hotel in London. You can see how she got on here.

Due to the increase in owners wanting to travel with their dogs, Hotels.com now offers almost 100,000 pet-friendly properties on its site. The company has even launched a new category in its annual Loved by Guests awards: Best for Pets.

“At Hotels.com, we want to make sure you find the paw-fect place to check into, so we’re excited to add a Best for Pets category to our Loved by Guests awards – but it doesn’t stop there,” says Liz.

“Our hunt for a canine critic is our way of ensuring our pet friendly hotels really are up to ‘scratch’ with a four-legged expert’s paw of approval.”

The opportunity is open from Monday 12th August 2019 until Sunday 25th August 2019. Jet-setting hounds (and their humans) can apply via Hotels.com’s Instagram. To enter, you need to follow @hotelsdotcom on Instagram, upload a picture or video of your pooch tagging @hotelsdotcom, and include the hashtag #CanineCritic.
