The popularity of sherry in Manchester has continued to grow over the past couple of years.
The hype around the opening of Manchester’s first dedicated sherry bar suggests we have a lot more time for the joys of fortified wine nowadays.
Spanish restaurant Lunya, ahead of the curve as always, has long been recognised as a go-to destination for some of the best sherry in Manchester.
They’ve been involved in International Sherry Week in the UK since 2014, and the award-winning bar, deli and restaurant stocks a huge range of the region’s best sherries alongside fabulous wines, cavas and spirits.
Their sherry tasting evenings have proved to be one of their most popular events at their Barton Arcade restaurant.
Whether you’re a sherry virgin or fancy yourself as a bit of a connoisseur, you’re sure to leave feeling impressed.
For £30 a head, you’ll be given eight stunning sherries to try over the course of two hours, including the year’s release of Tio Pepe Fino En Rama, a special limited bottling which is drawn from the cask during the spring when the presence of live yeast in the wine is at its highest.
As if that’s not enough, the kitchen team will be sending out a selection of their award-winning tapitas to complement the evening’s tasting session.
And your ticket will get you 10% off any bottle of sherry you would like to buy on the night.
Luna, Barton Arcade, June 13th, 6.30-8.30pm.
