Creamline Dairies – the long established, Trafford based family company – is calling on the people of Greater Manchester and Cheshire to nominate community- spirited family members, friends and contacts, in the inaugural ‘Creamline: Cream of the Community’ awards scheme.
“…Creamline delivery heartlands
work tirelessly on behalf of
worthy causes”
Creamline is planning to recognise local people with a heart of gold who are making a major contribution to local community life and are as well known locally as Creamline’s network of milkmen.
The award scheme is open to individuals and community groups based throughout Greater Manchester and the winner will receive a £500 cash prize to be donated to the charitable cause of their choice, as well as being pampered to breakfast in bed, prepared by the talented chefs at Cheshire Cookery School. The person who nominates the Cream of the Community winner will in turn receive a fabulous hamper of Creamline products.
‘Typical’ nominees could be, for example, local individuals who have set up a community group for the elderly or volunteered to help the homeless. Or it could be someone who has set up a food bank, established a drop-in centre for local young people or given of their time to clear an area of waste ground to turn it into a recreational facility for local children. The possibilities are endless but all are linked by the fact they have in some way benefitted local community life.
Commenting on Creamline’s new community initiative, joint managing director Chris Swallow said: ‘’There are many unsung heroes throughout the Creamline delivery heartlands who work tirelessly on behalf of worthy causes, giving of themselves, their time and expertise, but expecting nothing in return except the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping others. We are looking to reward this very special band of people and enable them to make a donation to their chosen cause. The Cream of the Community award scheme will run alongside the Creamline Dairies’ Lottery and other charitable initiatives in 2014.”
As a local family company, Creamline prides itself on supporting the communities it serves and the long-established Creamline Lottery has awarded tens of thousands of pounds to local good causes, including Francis House, St Ann’s Hospice, and local community groups like the Girl Guides.
