The Crafty Pig bar and kitchen on Oldham Street has recently been kitted out with new interiors and a bold new attitude, and is determined to entertain you with something different every day of the week.

Crafty Pig Fest is a week-long celebration of culture, comedy and live performance starting on Monday 19 September and a chance to sample the variety of great acts they have in store for you every week.

Crafty Pig is a refreshing change from places which just seem to wait for the weekend. It’s rapidly gaining a reputation as a great place to pop in to after work and, with many of the events free, it’s easy on the wallet too.

Crafty Pig Fest starts on Monday 19 September starts with ‘Meantime Sessions’, a weekly live music session where people are invited to show-off their talents – but made supersize! The night will be kicking off with music from up-and-coming guitar duo Laurel Canyon followed by a series of atmospheric rock songs from Horla and finishing with King Kartel who are bound to bring the audience alive with an all-out indie dance party.

There are even some open mic slots available between 7 and 8.30pm giving you the opportunity to show your talents, with a free Meantime Brewing Company beer for performers.

Tuesday 20 September is the stand-up night of the festival, hosted by Smug Roberts with special guest Mick Ferry. Expect an evening of original stand-up, packed with entertaining anecdotes and big laughs, all for free!

There’s chance to chill out midweek as Wednesday 21t is another live music night, headlined by local talent Jo Rose, a singer-songwriter with an Americana vibe. Crafty Pig are getting quite a reputation for what they are doing to Wednesdays after all – creators of the famous Workers Wednesday offer-3 sharing plates and a bottle of house wine for £19.95.

Thursday 22 is Quiz Night, another regular event.  It’s a festival special in the shape of Gareth Bird’s Music Quiz so get revising now and polish up that Manc music knowledge! Even better, chips are involved, courtesy of the Crafty Pig kitchen which keeps serving up a range of comfort food classics every day.

Expect a very musical weekend as Friday 23 presents an evening of live music and DJs in collaboration with Only Joking Records. And expect an even better sound than ever thanks to the recent refurbishment, which amplifies the warm wood vibes.

The festival closes with live music and a DJ all day on Saturday followed by a ‘Sunday Sessions DJ’ special, another regular event.

No matter what day of the week it is, you know that there’s always something great going on at The Crafty Pig.
