Summer is in full swing, and the countdown to Manchester’s biggest running event is on.
To keep runners safe there will be COVID secure measures in place, but the thrill of running through the heart of Manchester and the unbeatable feeling of crossing the finish line on Deansgate, will be even more special this year.
Join the return of Manchester’s original 10k, famous for its city centre route, buzzing atmosphere from start to finish, iconic music and entertainment zones every kilometre of the course, and of course Mancunian spirit in abundance.
Whether you do it for the challenge, or to fundraise for charity, it’s one of the biggest events in Manchester’s calendar.
Each year tens of thousands line up on the start line, running for good causes, for PBs, and for fun.
And with all the action televised live on the BBC, this is an event day experience like no other.
It’s not all about the grown-ups either, as little ones can get involved by joining the Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run.
Let your budding athlete experience a finish line feeling that will inspire a lifelong love of being active.
As 26th September fast approaches, it’s nearly time to start your training.
We’re all a bit out of practice, so they’ve created the Great Manchester Run Solo challenge to give you a bit of extra motivation in the build-up to your event.
The 8-week challenge, which runs from 2nd August to 26th September, is designed to get you race ready, so it will be the perfect training partner to ensure you’re at your best on race day.
It costs £15 to join, however if you have an entry into the Great Manchester Run the challenge price is discounted to £12.50.
This year it’s all about the comeback – so get ready and sign up!
