Corner Slice launched in 2019, specialising in huge Detroit style pizzas with creative toppings.
Now, they’re coming to Ancoats, taking over Jimmy’s kitchen for a summer residency from Friday 3rd June.
Detroit style pizza is a rectangular pizza with a thick crust and cheese that goes all the way to the edges.
The style was developed during the mid-twentieth century in Detroit, baked in blue steel pans from local automotive suppliers.
Jimmy’s popular rock bar was founded in 2016 by One Night Only bandmates and brothers George and Jimmy Craig.
Originally in the Northern Quarter, the venue amassed a cult following as well as becoming known as a great place to watch underground artists and up and coming local bands.
Last summer, Jimmy’s opened a new venue set in the historic heart of Ancoats.
The venue, in a beautiful red-brick building on the corner of Blossom Street on Cutting Room Square, is set over two floors, with outdoor space for dining and drinking.
“We are extremely excited to announce that @corner.slice will be taking over the kitchens in both of our Manchester & Liverpool locations from this summer!” Jimmy’s announced on Instagram.
“Launching in Manchester on Friday 3rd June, with Liverpool not too far behind (watch this space for further Liverpool launch date news). Detroit Style Pizza Peddlers Frank & Danny will be slinging their incredible full pies & slices from 12-10pm Wednesdays – Sundays to make the good times at Jimmy’s even better.
“Bottomless Saturdays will make a big comeback in Liverpool and continue as usual in Manchester with an improved & extended drinks offering to keep you well oiled throughout the sesh.
“We very much look forward to this exciting new chapter and can not wait to see all of your beautiful faces stuffed with pizza & pints!”.
