CBD is moving off the newsagent’s shelves and into our bars and cafes.
NQ Hemp on Tib Street opened at the end of last year and is Manchester’s first CBD bar.
Taking inspiration from the cafes of Amsterdam, here you can find cocktails, coffees, milkshakes and beers all infused with the legal hemp extract.
For those that don’t know, CBD (cannabidiol) is a legal substance extracted from hemp, which is a variety of the cannabis sativa plant.
Natural and 100% legal, it’s increasingly being used for a variety of reasons across the UK with users believing it helps with muscle and joint pains and anxiety.
Behind the bar at NQ Hemp, they are adding the extract into cocktails like the Hempini with Patron XO tequila, ghost vodka and espresso, and the Smokey Joe which is made with Dead Man’s Fingers hemp-infused rum and a special smokey coca-cola.
Customers can also enjoy CBD-infused coffees, soft drinks and milkshakes. Prices range between £3.50 for CBD-infused coffees and £10 for cocktail jars.
Owner Ryan has also got plans to release CBD organic cold-pressed juices in the future and is looking at exploring the possibility of a food offering going forward, too.
“As it stands we’ve not currently selling food, [but] we have got food in the pipeline,” he tells us.
“In fact, we’ve got three chefs we’re looking at employing already. We are going to be moving into catering, it might not be for a couple of months yet. We want to get our feet on the ground with what we’ve got at hand and then we can move on.”
The bar also stocks vapeables and distillables and allows its club members to vape CBD on the premises.
On the weekends it hosts live music, and in the week you can pop in to catch their open mic nights. And they’ve even got FIFA, for those who fancy playing some video games.
Find NQ Hemp at 82-84 Tib Street and pop in to try a CBD-infused cocktail for yourself.
