With the budget gym market well and truly saturated, more and more people are turning to unique, bespoke programmes with personal trainers and classes to get their fitness fill.

But that expensive lifestyle choice isn’t for everyone – so, what’s next?  This was this question that brought together three great minds of the fitness world to create an experience unlike any other in the UK.

Launching in Manchester in March, V1BE is a boutique studio gym specialising in treadmill-based high intensity interval training.

Best-in-class trainers and state-of-the-art equipment combine to offer a fitness experience like no other, without joining fees or 12-month contracts.

Key to the V1BE experience is heart rate monitoring. Every class is a high intensity, heart rate-monitored interval training session that gives a full body workout.

MyZone is an easy-to-use monitoring system that measures real-time heart rate, calories and effort data. Physical activity from both inside and outside of the club is wirelessly uploaded to a user, trainer, and owner cloud account, providing relevant data that can be accessed anywhere in the world.

V1BE have teamed up with MyZone to provide wearable tracking monitors for all V1P members.

“You can opt to put the readouts on the screens during your workout, and battle it out with other classmates during your session,” says co-owner Gareth Evans. “We expect a lot of our clients to maximise their workout and effort level by using this technology.”

V1BE is the brainchild of Gareth, Kevin Scott, and Andy Tee, who together have more than 70 years combined experience in the leisure and fitness industry.

“We wanted to create an intense experience, in a boutique space, without being intimidating or too exclusive,” says Gareth.

“V1BE combines that high intensity workout you get from a personal trainer and retains the enjoyment from working out in a class, some classes will also feature DJs and live musicians. Not your average workout!”

The first V1BE gym opens in the Northern Quarter in March, with a second launching at Hyphen on Mosley Street by the summer.

“The main reasons for choosing 35 Dale St was the location and attention to detail Helical have given to the project in general,” says Gareth.

“Dale Street is a fantastic location for office workers and closely situated to many city apartments. It suits the type of clientele we believe V1BE will attract.”

Along with a 1,800 sq ft fitness studio, specifically designed for HIIT, V1BE will also include high-end changing rooms with shower facilities, a reception, juice bar and retail space.
