Bowdonbury Festival 2023 returns and is set to be bigger and better than ever

Returning to the Bowdon Cricket, Hockey & Squash Club in Altrincham for its third consecutive year, this festival promises a spectacular lineup of acts and attractions that will leave you breathless.

Get ready to enjoy thrilling rides at the funfair, marvel at Supercar and classic car displays, and immerse yourself in an unmissable event.

Taking place on Saturday, May 20, and Sunday, May 21, this two-day extravaganza boasts the biggest lineup to date, headlined by the multi-million-selling disco legends, Boney M featuring Maizie Williams.

Prepare to dance the night away as they take the main stage, delivering an unforgettable performance that will transport you back to the peak of the disco era.

With chart-topping hits like “Daddy Cool,” “Rivers of Babylon,” and their recent remix of “Rasputin,” Boney M will have you grooving all night long.

Joining the party is the incredible X Factor winner, Steve Brookstein. Known for his astounding victory in the first season of X Factor, Steve’s soulful voice and captivating stage presence will captivate audiences as he performs his own releases and soul classics that are guaranteed to leave you wanting more.

And the fun doesn’t stop there!

Kickstarting the entertainment on the main stage is everyone’s favorite party band, Weird Science, ready to deliver a selection of feel-good hits that will keep you on your feet.

And that’s not all—Saturday’s lineup features a talented roster of local performers, including the dynamic classical crossover artists Forever Tenors, the soulful singer-songwriter Imogen Flint, and the incredible students and choir from The Music Place.

On Sunday, May 21, the festival celebrates 40 years of Maskell + Josephson, award-winning opticians located in Altrincham.

The festivities continue with a full day of family-friendly entertainment, highlighted by a mesmerizing performance from Paul Bacon as Ultimate Elton.

This lifelong Elton John fan will transport you into the world of the legendary singer-songwriter with his extraordinary vocal talents and authentic tribute.

From timeless classics like “Your Song” to the emotional “Candle in the Wind,” Ultimate Elton is a must-see celebration of Elton John’s sublime music.

Joining the lineup on Sunday are The Bootleg Bee Gees, Chic Out!, and The Shedmartins, bringing the sounds of the Bee Gees, Nile Rodgers and Chic, and the Housemartins to life.

Get ready to sing along to all the hits and dance the day away.

While music takes center stage, the festival also offers a host of attractions to keep you entertained.

Explore the Supercar and Classic Car displays, enjoy traditional funfair stalls and rides, conquer a giant inflatable obstacle course, or let your imagination run wild with face painting.

And when it’s time to refuel, indulge in delicious treats from local outlets, including mouth-watering woodfired pizzas from Little Red Pizza Company and gourmet burgers from Humble Kitchen Gourmet.
