Families. They’re everywhere aren’t they? They’re hungry, outnumbered and we’re coming to a restaurant near you.
Any kid’s main, soft drink, dessert and one game of bowling for £10…
When you take them anywhere, they have a list of demands longer than your average Die Hard villain and on top of all that, they insist on being fed at regular intervals during your attempted day out in the city centre.
Parents often come to a dead end when deciding what to do with their kids in the city. 25,000 professionals living and or working in the city centre being catered for by new bars and restaurants popping up every week. But what can you do with your kids?
Before your kids get to the age where they hang out near the Printworks or converse in the Arndale and food court, take them out in the city centre yourself.
Sure, there’s cultural and educational sites such as the Museum of Science and Industry to take the young ones, it’s fun, but what then? All Star Lanes is all over it. A bar, restaurant come bowling alley catering for the whole family.
From the bowling to the delicious milkshakes and food, All Star Lanes MCR have it covered. The adults can relax at the bar (or join in) while the youngsters bowl and sip on fruit juice.
They have a decent kids deal too. Available before 5pm, any kid’s main, a soft drink, dessert and one game of bowling for £10 per child. Mains such as cheeseburger, fish fingers and southern fried chicken all with fries. The kids can even get the popular mac & cheese. They’re small. Even for kids portions but you can’t grumble at the value considering a game of bowling and a two course dinner. For dessert, the kids can choose from oatmeal & peanut butter fudge cakes, pecan pie or ice-cream. View the whole menu here.
We recommend hiring the lanes for a game of bowling and eating afterwards. They tend to be restless at the dinner table, disregard eating and then complain they’re hungry after bowling. You know the script.
We’ve heard that the team will take the stress out of organising large kids parties/ taking the hassle out of big kids parties by taking orders on lanes and having meals ready for them when they sit down to avoid restless hungry kids after they bowl.
The regular adult menu has some new additions too. Nibbles, starters, sides, mains, from the Josper grill, burgers & more. Even desserts. Try the King Pin burger (£12) – a maple bacon cheeseburger crowned with a mac & cheese croquette. Or the 10oz Dingley Dell pork cutlet from the Josper grill (16.50) – comes with potato hash & red wine sauce. Don’t leave without trying the oatmeal & peanut butter fudge cakes. Even from your kids plate.
