From a Simpson-themed vegan fusion dumpling haven to an anime and kawaii-themed shop, Afflecks is brimming with unique businesses that cater to diverse interests.

So what’s new at Afflecks?

Desert Island Dumplings

Desert Island Dumplings

A vegan fusion dumpling haven Desert Island Dumplings, known for their mouthwatering vegan fusion dumplings, has found a permanent home on the third floor of Afflecks.

After regular slots at GRUB MCR and residencies at Stretford Foodhalls and Sadlers Cat, Desert Island Dumplings has opened its first-ever bricks and mortar site.

The Desert Island Dumplings team has built a large and loyal customer base ever since they began serving their delicious dumplings to the people of MCR, and are now welcoming guests to their Simpsons-themed space.

Their menu, available from 10 AM to 6 PM every day, offers a tasty range of dumplings for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Patrons can indulge in the legendary breakfast dumplings filled with garlic mushrooms, vegan sausage, hash browns, and beans.

For a sweeter treat, the overnight blueberry dumplings served with syrup, jam, or icing sugar are a must-try.

Lunchtime favourites include the OG cheezburger dumplings, made with juicy soy and pea protein patties, vegan cheese, and house relish.

Sides such as hash browns and drunk udon noodles complete the delightful menu.

Tokyo Go

Anime and Kawaii Magic Tokyo Go, an anime and kawaii-themed shop, aims to create a haven for Manchester’s anime super fans.

Japanese fashion, with its worldwide appeal, has inspired this store to offer a range of officially licensed Sanrio items featuring beloved characters like Hello Kitty and My Melody.

From apparel and accessories to stationery and lifestyle products, Tokyo Go’s collection captivates anyone with an affinity for anime and its enchanting world.

Dub Merchant

Sea 92 and Dub Merchant

Celebrating reggae and soul music Dub Merchant, an independent trader, celebrates Afro-Caribbean and African-American music through its wide range of memorabilia.

Visitors can find t-shirts, bags, and posters that pay homage to the rich legacy of reggae and soul music.

This vibrant store is a haven for music lovers seeking unique and nostalgic merchandise.

Higher Vibe Tribe

Reiki healing and well-being For those seeking relaxation and inner peace, Higher Vibe Tribe offers a unique experience at Afflecks.

Their Pyramid Meditation Room and Reiki Treatment aim to increase relaxation, reduce stress, and stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities.

Visitors can book appointments through their Instagram handle, @higher.vibe.tribe, and embark on a journey of holistic well-being in Afflecks’ bohemian environment.

City & Bloom

Plants, Homewares, and Creative Workshops City & Bloom, a resident plant, book, and workshop store, has expanded into a larger unit on the third floor of Afflecks.

With their diverse range of indoor plants and hand-made homewares, they have fostered a collaborative and creative community.

City & Bloom also offers regular workshops, providing a space for enthusiasts to learn and connect with like-minded individuals.

Sea92

Harnessing the Power of Sea Moss Sea92, a sea moss gel company, has taken over the old City & Bloom unit.

Owner Keano Deacon’s passion for sea moss and its health benefits led him to create an all-natural immunity booster and energy source.

Sea92’s 100% organic sea moss, sourced directly from the Caribbean (St. Lucia), undergoes a meticulous process to preserve its minerals and nutrients.

Their product range includes various forms and infusions of sea moss, offering a valuable addition to Manchester’s wellness market.

Afflecks thriving throughout the years

AJ Martyn, Afflecks’ General Manager, expresses delight in seeing the family of independent traders expanding within the vibrant walls of Afflecks.

The transformation of the third floor into smaller units has allowed for more opportunities for small businesses while restoring Afflecks’ bustling thoroughfare of small shops.

Afflecks remains a beacon of creativity and independence, fostering an environment that celebrates the unique journeys of its traders and attracts a diverse community of visitors.
