Since opening in early 2018, Cibo has become the go-to place for authentic Italian food in the city centre.

The elegant Liverpool Road restaurant with its huge glass windows, sunny yellow seating and crisp white tablecloths offers a range of Neapolitan delights for a true taste of Italy.

And now, Cibo Manchester is planning something very special indeed, with news of a second restaurant opening soon – and this one will be even bigger and better.

Owners have invested over £600,000 into the renovations for the new site in Manchester’s historic Great Northern building on Deansgate, which is planning to launch in December.

The first thing diners will see when they walk into the stunning new venue is a beautiful flower display and a light feature suspended from the high ceiling, with similarly stylish decor to the Liverpool Road branch.

And fans of the authentic dishes which have become firm favourites at Liverpool Road will be thrilled with the menu at the new Great Northern restaurant.

The famous Penne Reggiano cheese wheel will be on offer at both sites, as well as a quarterly changing menu filled with tempting treats.

This delicious and much-loved creation sees the penne pasta dressed with rich cream and sage and flambéed with cognac in a Parmesan wheel in front of you for a real touch of theatre, with heady truffle oil adding a touch of luxury.

Fresh pasta, unsurprisingly, plays a major part on Cibo’s menu, which also features a whole range of unique risottos, pizzas and a number of carefully-crafted vegan starters, mains and desserts – and if you want gluten-free pasta, you only need to ask.

As well as fresh fish, diners will be impressed by the grill menu’s selection of locally-sourced, 28-day aged sirloin, fillet and ribeye steaks.

And that’s not all.

The new branch will also be serving bottomless brunch – but Italian style, of course.

Diners will be able to feast on three exceptional courses of tasty Italian specialities during the new brunch service, as well as a range of drink options.

Deansgate is about to get even more delicious – and we can’t wait.

Cibo will be opening in the Great Northern in December, and advance bookings will be open soon.
