Homeless charity recruiting for jobs in Manchester and Salford

Local charity Mustard Tree believe that everyone should be able to feed themselves and their family, live in a secure home, be healthy, find meaningful work and have the chance to discover their talents.
They welcome people from across Greater Manchester to their community shops, offering access to low cost food through the food club, clothing and household essentials such as furniture, pots and pans.
Mustard Tree’s work impacts the lives of thousands of people every year, helping people in need to learn new skills, find work, secure accommodation as well as providing the resources needed to create a home.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and urgent need for its services, the charity is now investing in seven new jobs across its Little Hulton, Eccles and Ancoats sites.
Mustard Tree remained open throughout the pandemic to provide access to low-cost food, emergency support and clothing.
Between March 2020 – March 2021, people visited its hubs over 33,000 times.
The charity is now seeking drivers, retail and support workers to help build for the future – with a focus on homelessness prevention, training and digital inclusion.
With a 25 year history in Greater Manchester, Mustard Tree offers meaningful work and the opportunity to help others within a warm, dynamic and productive environment.
“The pandemic has uncovered the true scale of inequality in our cities, and demand for our services have soared since the start of this crisis.” says Mustard Tree CEO, Jo Walby.
“We’re now looking to expand our team and tackle the consequences of COVID-19 head-on.
“If you have good communication skills, are proactive in solving problems, enjoy working with people and are kind, please apply.
“We are particularly looking for people who live in Salford and/or near our Ancoats base.”
