Selfridges’ two Manchester stores in Exchange Square and intu Trafford Centre reopen today with extra health and safety precautions in place.
Customers will be able to shop across all floors and departments in both stores including fashion, accessories, beauty, toys, technology, gifting, food and wine, lifestyle and homeware.
Services will include VIP concierge, styling advice with experts, and advisors to help with gifting across all departments. Click & Collect will also be available. Shopping by appointment will be introduced, with slots available outside of regular trading hours and fast-track access to the store.
Ladurée, situated within the Exchange Square store and Pret in the Trafford store will be open offering a takeaway service.
Fitting rooms and customer toilets will be open and car parking will be available at both stores.
Remaining services and restaurants will remain closed for the time being but will be back up and running when government guidelines allow. In the meantime, Selfridges will also offer a range of store-to-home delivery options for vulnerable and self-isolating customers.
Strict social distancing measures in place include one customer per 20 sq metres of retail space, floor markings and signage installed across all stores and locations to support social distancing of two metres including queues system to enter Selfridges stores and a one-way system to enter and exit both stores.
Where social distancing cannot be maintained, physical barriers and perspex screens have been installed to protect customers and staff.
Use of the lift will be limited to one person or one household at a time, with customers encouraged to use the stairs or escalators where possible
Hand sanitiser stations have been installed throughout both stores and back of house areas and face coverings have been made available to all members of staff.
Customers are encouraged to visit stores alone or only with those who need to be with them, in household groups of up to four people.
Hosts will be on hand throughout each department to direct and assist customers to make their visit as easy as possible. Customers can also download the Selfridges app and use the store guide to plan their visit ahead of coming to the store.

“Innovation and creativity continue to be a priority for Selfridges and, even with measures in place to keep us all safe, we are pulling out all stops to inspire our customers in store.”
To mark the reopening of its stores, Selfridges will unveil their new Thank You window displays designed by team members from across the UK, in celebration of the incredible work done by those who have kept the country going during the coronavirus pandemic.
The windows are an extension of the Selfridges #KindnessChallenge, a series of charitable initiatives to support the communities in which Selfridges operates.
Selfridges Trafford is open between 10am and 7pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 6pm on Sundays.
Selfridges Exchange Square will be open between 11am and 7pm Monday to Saturday and 11.30am to 5.30pm on Sundays.
