YO! Sushi launches new YO! TO GO concept – and Manchester gets it first

YO! Sushi is renowned for its peculiar concepts, defying the rules of dining out with its rapid, help-yourself conveyor belt. But now they’ve taken it to a whole new level.

Opened on the 29th of October, YO! have debuted their reimagined ‘to go’ kiosk at the Manchester Piccadilly site to offer those in the station an easier way to grab sushi on the go, whether it’s grabbing a snack for the train or picking up something quickly for your lunch break.

Swapping their beloved conveyor belt for an interactive computer screen, YO! are now offering an even quicker transaction process for those in a rush.

And with the brand new extended menu, there are hundreds of combinations to choose from.

Customers can build their own dishes, with a base of rice and noodles, or select one of the various ready-made sushi platters, including the ‘plant power box’ (3 yasai rolls, 2 cucumber maki, 2 avocado maki, 1 kaiso gunkan, 1 inari pocket and 1 avocado nigiri) or the futari platter (4 tuna nigiri, 4 salmon nigiri, 4 panko prawn nigiri, 5 crunchy cali rolls and 5 YO! rolls), which can be bought as a single portion or shared between up to eight people.

As we venture into winter, sometimes chilled lunches just don’t quite cut the mustard, so YO! are also offering a selection of hot street food too, such as a toasty bowl of spicy ramen, the brand new teriyaki donburi rice bowls, and their critically acclaimed katsu curries.

And what’s more, YO! cater to all dietary requirements, so vegans and meat-eaters can munch on lunch together in perfect sushi harmony.

“Gone are the days where we’re limited to picking up a soggy sandwich when we’re in a hurry, we’ve modified the restaurant to better suit our customer’s needs and habits,” said YO!’s CEO, Richard Hodgson.

“In busy locations and cities, we’ve found that people want the convenience of fast food but without having to compromise on quality and taste and believe that our YO! TO GO format ticks all the boxes.”

YO! TO GO Manchester Piccadilly station is the first of its kind, and will pave the way for more YO! TO GO counters set to open around the country in the new year.
