When visiting The Lowry Hotel, you’re guaranteed a taste of luxury – so why should their food be any different?
The only five star hotel in Greater Manchester stands proudly on the bank of the Irwell river, and boasts an admirable collection of artwork.
At the River Restaurant, the hotel’s dining room, chefs with decades of culinary experience work hard to produce dishes of the highest quality using the freshest ingredients.
Every month, the restaurant creates a brand new ‘chef’s choice’ menu, composed of a new array of meals all for a set price of £24.95 for three courses. This month, the chefs bring you dishes so dainty and bursting with colour, they capture the spirit of spring perfectly.
The menu offers a variety of flavours, with vegetarian options too. To start: wild mushrooms and poached eggs lie upon a truffled brioche; cured sea trout sits on a bed of heritage tomatoes; and lamb shoulder braised to perfection with petite potato croquettes.
For the main event: pan-fried monkfish that melts on the tongue served with a combination of red pepper coulis and squid ink; a sweet asparagus and pea risotto to brighten up your plate accompanied by smokey cheese and hazelnut flavours; and duck leg infused with delicious Asian spices, served with black sesame and bok choi.
To finish, cleanse your palette with ice cold sorbets, traditional cheeseboards, and the daintiest fruity frangipanis you ever did see.
It’s a menu jam-packed with flavour combinations your mouth could only dream of, unique to The Lowry Hotel.
The chef’s choice menu changes every month, so be sure to try the new menu before the end of May to avoid missing out on these beautiful dishes.
