Excitement is revving up as the Krazy Races Soapbox Derby prepares to zoom back into Stockport later this month.
Following its sensational debut last year, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of 15,000 spectators, the whimsical event is set to take place on Sunday, 28th July, promising even more thrills and spills.

Stockport’s town centre will once again transform into a vibrant racecourse, featuring chicanes, obstacles, and a host of surprises.
The route will lead competitors through key landmarks such as St Peter’s Square and Mersey Square, passing the iconic Plaza Theatre before making a sharp turn towards the renowned Air Raid Shelters.
This exciting course will challenge racers with its twists and turns, providing plenty of entertainment for the crowd.
The event is organised with the support of Totally Stockport, who were thrilled by the success of last year’s race.
A battle for victory
This year’s derby will see between 20 to 40 teams battling it out in themed soapboxes, each vying for glory in a knockout-style competition.
Multiple trophies are up for grabs, and teams and spectators alike are encouraged to raise funds for local charities, including The Christie and St Ann’s Hospice.

In addition to the races, the event will feature a bustling array of local entertainers, food stalls, and displays of vintage cars. It’s set to be a fun-filled day for families and visitors, celebrating the best of Stockport’s community and culture.
