Founded by the great uncle of the late husband of current owner Marie Walsh, the shop has become a cherished institution, weaving its delectable pasties into the fabric of the town’s culinary history.

International Acclaim and Star-Studded Fans

What started as a local gem has made a global impact, with Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe gaining international fame.

The Mayor’s Tribute

On December 7, the Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Mohammed Ayub, paid a special visit to Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe to honour its 125th anniversary.

Despite the gloomy weather, the shop bustled with patrons eager to partake in its culinary delights.

The mayor presented Marie Walsh with a certificate recognising the shop’s longstanding contribution to the community and the town’s cultural tapestry.

Behind the Scenes

During the visit, Mayor Ayub received an exclusive tour of the shop, witnessing firsthand the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into creating their renowned pasties.

The mayor was presented with a personalised pasty, a testament to the shop’s culinary prowess, with the word “mayor” expertly handcrafted on it.

This unique gesture showcased the shop’s commitment to excellence and its role as a culinary cornerstone in Bolton.

A Taste of Celebrity

Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe’s appeal isn’t limited to the locals; it has also captured the attention of YouTube sensation Danny Malin.

The popular host of ‘Rate My Takeaway’ awarded the shop a coveted perfect score on his channel, solidifying its status as a culinary treasure.

This recognition adds a modern twist to the shop’s long and storied history.

A Bright Future Ahead

Reflecting on the significance of Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe, Mayor Ayub expressed his hope that the shop continues to thrive for generations to come.

Marie Walsh, visibly pleased with the acknowledgment, plans to display the mayor’s certificate proudly alongside a collection of photos featuring both staff and celebrity patrons.

As Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe looks to the future, it remains an essential part of Bolton’s cultural identity, promising to delight taste buds and create lasting memories for years to come.
