It doesn’t seem that long ago that Peter Street was a bit of a no-no when it comes to eating, drinking and having a bit of good old fashioned fun. Then along came Albert’s Schloss and B.Eat Street and, hey presto, it’s become the latest hang out area for Manchester’s after hours crowd
Now B.Eat Street has announced new bars, indoor seating areas, live music, more event spaces and have added three more incredible food traders to its portfolio as it takes over an entire street at The Great Northern Warehouse.
“I don’t know how much more we can cram between these walls,” says Chris Legh, B.Eat Street creative director. “We have six different bars and drinking dens, you can now lose a night exploring everything we have to offer. As well as opening a gallery space, live music venue back up by the best independent food in the city. We have created a brand new destination where you can spend an entire evening. “
Here are just a few of the new bars and food units to give you a flavour of the bigger, better street.
Bunny Jackson’s Juke Joint
Live blues, rock and soul every Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Whiskey Joint. Boozy, bluesy, sippin’n foot tappin’ drinking den with live music and chicken wire stage. There is an American pool and the possibility to sing-along to country karaoke songs at one of the programmed events.
Brickhouse
Loft style, industrial event space, part time art gallery and full time party venue. Is available to hire and hang out and look arty when there is no event booked. The opening exhibition is Flu Season by Harrison Edwards. How true. Sniff.
Blue Caribou Canteen
Authentic Québec-style poutine – squeaky cheese curds, gravy and fries. Possibly the best poutine this side of Montreal, with all ingredients locally sourced. Blue Caribou is run by Graham Gartside-Bernier and Vincent Bernier one from Montreal, the other from, er, Bolton, who serve La Classic Poutine and a few variations on the theme, just like “ma mère” makes.
Black Milk Cereal Dive
In the year and a half since their launch and quickly catching the attention of Manchester in Affleck’s, Black Milk is now moving on up to B.Eat street. Freakshakes, stacks of sugar and homemade desserts are to be expected on the menu here
Freddie and Ava’s
A new concept from Chaat Cart born out of the love of excellent food and long summer holidays spent in Puglia, Italy. A rustic old-fashioned Italian, offering beautifully simple wood- fired pizza and home cooked Italian food. Fresh dough, hand-stretched, topped and then blasted in the flames of our wood fired oven.
