As far as we’re aware, Elvis Presley never visited Harpurhey, Higher Blackley or even Lower Crumpsall. But that didn’t stop Stagecoach Manchester treating passengers to some rock ‘n’ roll entertainment to celebrate the launch of enhanced services on the 56 and 57 buses.
An Elvis impersonator belted out hits such as Jailhouse Rock and Heartbreak Hotel in homage to The King’s number one hit in ‘56.
The 56 and 57 services will transport passengers from Harpurhey, Higher Blackley, North Manchester General Hospital and Lower Crumpsall to the city centre.
Stagecoach Manchester managing director, Christopher Bowles, said: “We’ve listened to customer feedback and have improved our 56 and 57 services, combined with the 156 and 56A/57A on Sundays, to give the people of North Manchester regular and affordable transport to Manchester city centre.”
The improvements mean the 56, 57 and existing 156 services will now run up to every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime providing affordable, comfortable and connected transport.
