The all-pink pop-up venue complete with a Barbie booth sent Instagram wild when it opened on Bridge Street last year.

Today, bar and restaurant 202 Kitchen has announced plans to open a new permanent site.

Having successfully launched its first restaurant in Birmingham early last year, ‘202’ launched a pop-up unit on Bridge Street in Manchester from August – November.

But after outgrowing the space, they’ve opted to move to a bigger, permanent unit in Spinningfields.

Situated at the heart of Spinningfields, in Leftbank, the huge 7000sqft venue will overlook the River Irwell.

The venue will offer 200 covers, giving guests the option to enjoy outdoor waterside cocktails, or entering inside to the all-pink surroundings.

The vibrant interiors of 202 Kitchen quickly made it a favourite of social media savvy millennials, and the launch of the new venue will take their concept to a new level, with the owners having committed to investing £1million into the new space.

The Manchester site, will now become the brand’s flagship venue, opening its doors at the end of June.

It will create over 100 hospitality jobs in the process, and bring with it an enclosed outdoor area designed for all weather occasions – all set against the Instagrammable backdrop for which it has become most known for.

Serving street food cuisine with a 202 ‘twist’, owners say their menu will showcase dishes such as mac’n’cheese, waffles, fried chicken, burgers, and grilled seafood.

“We are looking to move out of lockdown by making significant moves and the future looks bright for 202 Kitchen,” said 202 Kitchen directors Leon Beckford, Panikos Myrritis and John Sambo.

“Having successfully tested our concept in two cities during a difficult year for the hospitality sector, we are now perfectly placed to expand our operations, starting with Manchester.

“The waterside Manchester site will now be the brand’s flagship venue and we can’t wait to reveal our plans for the fit out.”

202 Kitchen will open in Spinningfields at the end of June. For more information or to register for priority access once bookings open, visit 202kitchen.co.uk.
