Manchester Airport’s four Escape Lounges have reopened following a brand refresh with new colour schemes, menu designs and locally-inspired artwork.

The Escape Lounges are calming, tranquil spaces to escape the hustle and bustle of the airport terminal and relax and unwind before you fly, whether it’s on business or for pleasure.

Newspapers and magazines, unlimited Wi-Fi, and work spaces and charging points are all available free of charge.

The new food and beverage options, which will now be handled for the first time by in house airport staff in every lounge, are now fully all-inclusive.

Items that used to be paid upgrade options, including hot breakfasts, premium beers and spirits, and hot meat and vegetarian main dishes, are now available for the single-entry price.

This includes Veuve Valmante sparkling wine and Manchester Pale Ale, supported by a local partnership with independent Manchester brewery JW Lees.

Whatever time of the day guests visit the lounges, the buffet will be packed with a range of delicious dishes, all freshly prepared daily on site. Passengers can enjoy a selection of breakfast favourites including pastries, cereals, fresh fruit and hot items.

Those going for brunch or lunch can discover a range of hot buffet options such as pastries, spiced chicken and curries, as well as favourites such as mac ‘n’ cheese, cottage pie and the soup of the day served alongside cold buffet salads.

For anyone with a sweet tooth, a choice of cakes and biscuits is available.

The lounges also feature new ‘Instagram walls’ where passengers will be in with a chance of seeing their own Instagram photos displayed for a limited period of time.  Guests simply have to tag the lounge – @escapelounges or use the hashtag – #escapelounge

Passengers from any airline and any ticket class are welcome in the Escape Lounges. Groups of six or more must receive prior authorisation from the lounge before booking.

Your booking entitles you to a single visit in the Escape Lounge of up to three hours, starting from the booked time of arrival at the Lounge. Prices start from £25 per person. Book here.

The airport, which recently announced plans for a new ‘super terminal’ as part of its £1bn expansion, is the third busiest in the UK after London Heathrow and London Gatwick.

It was recently voted the best value airport in England in a survey by long-haul travel specialist, Southall Travel. The survey asked more than 1,000 British travellers to rank the UK’s busiest airports on a variety of costs such as shopping, hotels, parking and restaurants.

Manchester Airport was officially opened on Saturday June 25th 1938 with an air display by the Royal Air Force. In the first 12 months, the airport handled 7,600 passengers. It now handles more than 27 million a year.
