Manchester Arena will reopen on Saturday 9 September with a massive benefit concert to raise money for the Manchester Memorial Fund, honouring those affected by the 22 May terror attack and welcoming live talent back to the Arena.

We Are Manchester will feature a massive line-up of some of Manchester’s best-loved talent and world class musicians, ready to provide an unforgettable and emotional evening.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are set to headline the gig – particularly fitting as his song Don’t Look Back in Anger became an anthem adopted by the people of Manchester at commemorative events throughout the city.

Other northern talent lined up includes The Courteeners, Blossoms, Rick Astley and a DJ set from the Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon.

Longfella aka poet Tony Walsh, who performed his verse This is the Place at the Albert Square vigil in the aftermath of the attack, will also be there, with many more acts are yet to be announced.

The concert will mark the return of live entertainment to Manchester Arena, which has been closed since the 22 May terror attack on the Ariana Grande concert, which killed 22 people and left hundreds injured.

All proceeds from the concert will be going to the Manchester Memorial Fund – a new fund which Manchester City Council recently announced will be set up to pay for memorials to the 22 victims, overseen by the Lord Mayor of Manchester.

The new fund will complement the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which was set up to help families and victims in the aftermath of the attack.

In the space of just 24 hours, it raised over £2 million to help those in need. The One Love Manchester concert raised £2.35m for the Emergency Fund.

The concert will be putting public safety as a priority with all attendees screened upon arrival and any bags larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm will not be allowed inside.

Tickets, priced at £25 and £30, are due to go on sale at 9am Thursday 17 August, with a maximum of 4 per person. Better make sure you’re up early, as they are sure to sell out fast.

Tickets will not be available from the box office for this event and must be purchased at www.eventim.co.uk or by calling 0844 847 8000 and at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 0844 844 0444.

You can still contribute to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
