Notorious bad boy of the Manchester music scene Liam Gallagher has shown his softer side by agreeing to donate his iconic John Lennon-style orange-tinted shades to a charity auction.
Liam is joining seventeen other celebrities including Kate Moss, Emma Watson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Paul Weller, who have all donated their designer shades to this year’s Sightsavers charity Specs Appeal.
He has been seen sporting the shades on various occasions including several award ceremonies. The spectacles come with a case and 1960s paisley print lens cloth.
While you’d think one Liam Gallagher is more enough, his pal, celebrity photographer Rankin, got in on the fun, doing a photo-shoot of mini-versions of some of the top stars who donated their shades – including a pint-sized Liam.
Rankin also captured the mini-versions of singer Ella Eyre, actress Sarah Jessica Parker, racing driver Lewis Hamilton and even a mini Michael Caine. The mini-stars are the children and friends of staff at the charity. The mini Liam Gallagher is Charlie, aged 7, from East Sussex.

Rankin, who is an ambassador for the charity and has photographed some of the most famous models and A-listers in the world including Kate Moss and The Rolling Stones, took the images with the help of his team of make-up artists, stylists and hairdressers.
Sightsavers works in more than 30 countries across Africa and Asia, helping blind people to see again and, where possible, to prevent people from going blind.
Their Specs Appeal auction will help pay for cataract operations, eye tests and desperately needed eye surgery.
The auction runs until 13 August on Ebay. To be in with the chance of owning Liam’s shades click here.
