Following a massive 2023 where the Courteeners’ iconic album St Jude shot to number one, the band have announced a huge homecoming gig at Co-Op Live.

The Manchester-formed rock trio’s 2008 debut secured their first-ever number-one album following the release of their 15th-anniversary edition of the album.

Well overdue we reckon.

This night promises to be a huge celebration of that, and their new album, Pink Cactus Café.

This is not going to be a gig you want to miss.

The Co-Op Live, which has already played host to sensational homecoming gigs from Elbow, James, and Liam Gallagher, have absolutely smashed it out of the park after a rocky opening.

As if the beloved Manchester band coming home wasn’t enough, they will be supported by the DMAs, another brilliant band who The Courteeners have collaborated with on their new album.

Courteeners also recently played a massive headline show to 25,000 fans at Lytham Festival and are due to play at TRSMT Festival in Glasgow tomorrow (Saturday 13th July).

Courteeners new album Pink Cactus Café

As announced earlier in the week, Pink Cactus Café is Courteeners’ first new music since 2020’s More. Again. Forever.

This is a record that received critical acclaim and was widely regarded as one of the band’s most ‘confident and consistent’ records.

Who’s on their new record?

Liam Fray has co-produced all tracks and the album features contributions from friends of the band such as DMAs, Brooke Combe, James and Ian Skelly (The Coral), Pixey, Charlie Salt (Blossoms), Ola Modupe-Ojo (Bipolar Sunshine) and Theo Hutchcraft (Hurts) amongst many more.

The band say Pink Cactus Café is the sound of a band ‘pushing at all of the edges of what they do’ whilst retaining the core DNA of what makes their songs work so brilliantly, to so many: indelible melody and choruses purpose built for arenas and festival fields.

Basically, it’s Courteeners at their very best.

Pink Cactus Café is due for release on 25th October 2024 on Ignition Records. It will be available on CD, LP and cassette with limited edition signed albums and heavyweight vinyl including coloured formats.

All vinyl formats feature an exclusive bonus track. Digital formats include a Dolby Atmos version of the album.
