If the past year has taught us anything, it’s the importance of keeping both mind and body in good condition so we can better handle whatever the world throws at us.

Massage and other wellness routines can play a vital role in all this.

But where do you begin? Wellness app Urban has shaken up the massage and wellness industry by vastly improving the experience for both customer and practitioner.

Now back in action after the lengthy lockdown period, the Urban app lets you choose between 12 types of massage, from a sports massage to help you ease back into a healthy active lifestyle, to massages focusing on relaxation or pain management.

You can even opt for massages involving wellness substance CBD or specialist pregnancy massages.

The massage therapists come to your home – all you need to provide is space for the treatment table. Then simply lie back and let Urban’s expert team bring your body back to full strength, whether you want to give reflexology a try or have a sore neck treated.

Cleverly, the Urban app shows practitioners in order of distance, so you can book people who live close by, reducing travel distance and air pollution from car travel.

And rest assured, everyone involved at Urban takes COVID-19 safety measures very seriously.

All Urban professionals take a course that covers all types of risk-reduction, from limiting transmission to practical measures such as mask-wearing, air flow and clean surfaces.

Urban was founded in 2014 by Jack Tang and Giles Williams as a massage-at-home service but it has since grown into something far bigger.

They noticed that massage therapists were usually taking home just a fifth of the booking revenue, while customers struggled to vet individual practitioners.

Their app Urban has completely changed this outdated approach.

On Urban, therapists take home up to 72% of bookings while customers can see detailed information about them, with a single click, including ratings, reviews and detailed biographies.

Both sides of the client-therapist relationship benefit, leading to a better, smoother experience for both parties.

But Urban isn’t only about massage. You’ll find other treatments, such as facials, nails, and osteopathy.

Urban has teamed up with major brands such as Dermalogica, Aveda and Neom so you can be confident that you’re working with the very best wellness services available.

There’s a good reason why they’ve received backing from major institutional investors, raising $21m to build the technology and skilled teams to make this a reality.

Urban’s aim is simple. They want to help practitioners and their customers feel more confident, relaxed, energetic, and empowered.

The world of wellness and massage has made great leaps forward in recent years, with countless people seeing the benefits of a regular routine.

The Urban app makes every step of the process simpler and more steamlined than ever before, with massive benefits for everyone involved.

As we slowly ease out of a tough lockdown period, why not treat your mind and body to something special for the months ahead?

And there’s a special offer for I Love MCR readers, too. Use the code ILOVEMCR for £10 off your first booking. Expires 31st May.
