Ever wanted to have your head turned into a Christmas bauble? Not literally, of course, but by taking a 3D scan?

Well now you can. Because Sony Mobile’s team of tech-savvy elves will be taking personalised gifting to a whole new level when they host a Christmas bauble pop-up in the Manchester Arndale om Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December..

They will be offering shoppers the chance to turn their heads into Christmas baubles using the first 3D scanning app available on a smartphone

Thanks to the 3D Creator app found exclusively on the latest Xperia range – including the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact – Bauble Me face scans will take a matter of minutes to complete, leaving plenty of time to finish off your Christmas shopping spree. And they’re promising you’ll get your bespoke baubles in time for Christmas.

And the first 100 customers with an Xperia smartphone each day will receive a 3D bauble of themselves completely free of charge.

Shoppers with other handsets can still join in the fun for £30 plus postage for each bauble transformation. And shoppers will also get the chance to turn themselves into a festive elf, Santa or snowman in GIF form to take away and share with friends and family. That’s free, too.

The 3D Creator app is the very first of its kind that allows users to scan people and products in 3D and print them.

There’s no need for a scanner or Wi-Fi connection. Simply scan an object in a matter of minutes with the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and XZ Premium smartphone series.

There are four scanning modes: face, head, freeform and food. The best possible quality output is guaranteed no matter what’s being captured. The app even comes with handy, simple tips to guide customers on how to achieve quality 3D creations.

The 3D Creator app is available exclusively on the flagship Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact & XZ Premium. For more information click here.
