Forget the yellow brick road. Manchester’s gin lovers should follow the bubbles this week to enjoy free gin and champagne cocktails in Manchester’s swankiest bar, Impossible.

The venue, which recently won Best New Bar at the 2017 Late Night Awards, is set to banish midweek blues and wow thirsty passers by with a series of surprise happy hours.

Gin lovers should keep their eyes peeled and look out for the venue’s already infamous sparkling bubbles pouring out from the roof over Peter Street as this signals the start of their biggest gin giveaway ever.

Each time the bubbles flow, the first ten people to share photos of the bubbles declaring “I love gin and bubbles” using the hashtag #impossible will be rewarded with a free French 75 – the house classic gin and champagne cocktail.

The happy hours could happen at any time between 12pm and 8pm Monday to Friday and clues will be available via live streaming from the venue’s social media channels – Facebook and Instagram.

A timeless classic of the cocktail scene, the French 75 is sophisticated, elegant and refreshing. Named after the French Canon de 75 mode 1897, a ruthless and efficient weapon from the First World War, this stunning aperitif was probably created by Harry MacElhone at Harry’s American Bar in Paris in 1925.

Located off Peter Street in St. Peters Square, Impossible has an exquisite offering of 74 gins from around the world. It offers a variety of bespoke cocktails, an extensive bottle list plus a selection of beers, wines and champagnes.

Follow the bubbles, we say. See you at the bar.
